Rapid Malesice; Prague, CzechRepublic

Rapid Malesice compete in one of the third divisions of the regional Prague leagues, which is the seventh level of the Czech pyramid.

I liked this ground, even though I didn't bother walking round it. It had a cracking grass bank, which I could happily laze about on, watching a game on a future visit, if it were ever warm enough!

This is the ticket booth, from the street.

The ground itself is down these steps.

At the bottom of them are the club buildings, on our left.

Past that is a childrens' play area, with an outdoor sports court behind, as you can see.

Now we are at the pitch. It's a basic railed off one, here you can see the grass bank I mentioned, down one side.

It is partially railed off behind this near goal, and down both touchlines. You can see the far side, with the dugouts, where I never ventured.

Here we are up on the middle of the grass bank, behind the trees is a dirt track, which is the car park, of sorts.

From up here we look over to the dugouts.

Moving to the far end the far goal is not even railed off.

Retracing our steps along the banking, we see the sport court, and how much, or little, of behind the goal is railed off.

Here we look across this goal from the side.

My favourite view of the grass banking, before it's time to go.

TJ Junior Praha; Prague, Czech Republic

TJ Junior Praha play in the one of the second divisions of the Prague area leagues, which is level six in the Czech pyramid.

Out of all the grounds I visited in Prague on my recent trip there this was the only one I was unable to gain access to. but fortunately the ground was surrounded by a vertical metal bar fence, through which I could take some photos.

It is a single all-weather pitch, which looks quite new in construction.

This is the locked entrance to the ground, from a footpath, up from the road.

This hard standing runs down one side of the ground.

From the side I got this view behind the goal, these are the buildings where the entrance is. Presumably changing rooms and bar area.

Down the other touchline is hard standing, by the railed off pitch, which you can see past this warm up track.

From the side, through the fence of course, we look back at the club buildings.

Here we see the hard standing around the pitch at the far end.

And from another angle we look back down the 'running track' touchline.

Another look behind the goal, from this end.

SK Chrudim; Czech Republic

This is the ground of SK Chrudim. They currently paly in the sixth level of the Czech Republic pyramid. It's a basic ground, open on all four side, but has a lovely old wooden stand on one side. I was in town to watch ice hockey, but would love to return one day just to watch a game from it!

It's old structures like this that I simply adore about Czech grounds. Basic, but not butchered by modern ground grading requirements!

This is the ground, as you approach it from the road. This is when the heart is pumping! You see the place, but are not sure if you will be able to get inside or not!

At the entrance is a club noticeboard, not the sad memorial to a young player who passed away, only a few months before.

They are at home on the coming Saturday afternoon, with the other local team in a higher division also at home on the same day, but in the morning, you could have a great 'double header' here.

Yes! I get inside! The gate by the turnstile block is open!

Here is the stand to our right, but we're going to save that until last, and head to our left, strolling round the pitch clockwise.

The pitch is railed off, and very open on the other three sides, as you observe looking across it.

To the left, here, are the changing rooms, with the restaurant straight ahead. The tower behind it is outside, and part of some sort of complex by the local water board, I think.

Here is a photo of the water tower.

This must be a pleasant spot to relax and watch a game from, in the early season warmer months.

This is the open end, by the restaurant. Somewhat strange with the high mesh fencing.

From here we look over to the stand.

Moving along behind the goal, we head towards the corner.

And look down the far touchline, with a grassed training area to our left.

Looking down the same touchline, from back behind the goal, we see lots of advertising hoarding running the length of it.

Set back behind this corner is a clock and scoreboard.

From the same corner we look across the pitch.

These gates show part of the grassed training area behind the perimeter of the touchline. If you look carefully you can see small black round things along the bottom of the fence...

These form part of some sort of sprinkler system set in old tyres!

Here we look directly across to the stand.

Now we're up to the far end, and there's another training area behind it.

Through the mesh fencing we look across the pitch from this corner.

And now we're heading towards the stand, past a little bit of concrete hard standing.

This is the stand, from on the pitch.

A close up of one of the dug outs.

Now back on the spectator side, we look at the steps up to the stand.

And at the hard standing in front of it.

Now we're up in it, and as far as I'm concerned it's a real delight!

From the back row we look across it, towards the restaurant end.

And this is the view over the pitch.

And finally a good shot looking back down the stand.
